Would You Like to Join Us?

recruiting_collageThe U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is an organization of civilian volunteers—part of the U. S. Coast Guard team—who help promote safety among recreational boaters. We offer boating safety classes, vessel safety checks, on-water boater-assistance patrols and marine environmental protection programs. We also help maintain buoys, daybeacons and other aids to navigation. And we help U.S. Coast Guard and state officials carry out a wide array of other missions.
Want to be part of a group that offers you an opportunity to learn more about boating, take courses in seamanship, piloting, navigation and other subjects, spend time in providing a valuable public service and meet other boating enthusiasts?
You may be interested in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. As the civilian component of the U.S. Coast Guard--with 35,000 members from coast to coast--we provide all those things and more.
You can enroll in a series of courses covering almost every aspect of serious seamanship, and—if you're willing to undergo further training—qualify to help teach boating safety classes, carry out safety inspections of recreational boats, serve as crew [or even commander] of on-water boater-assistance patrols.
We also have fun, we don't work all the time.
If you're interested in joining the Auxiliary, we'd love to get acquainted. We meet every second Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
Contact John Bennett FSO-PS at newmember
who will get you started and answer any questions you may have.
